An Epic Night at The Haven

Fields of Glass – March 24, 2012 – The Haven

We have spent many evenings at The Haven enjoying some of Central Florida’s finest, but there aren’t many nights as epic as the triumphant return of Fields of Glass this past Saturday.  In all that we’ve witnessed in this haven, we have never before seen this tiny little stage transformed quite like this.   A few tried to get a glimpse behind the curtains while the stage was being transformed; however, we did not.  We chose to wait in excited anticipation of the delicious gift that was about to be unwrapped.  As the curtain lowered the flames rose and the fog mysteriously circled, the great viking and his beautiful mistress are slowly revealed.  As the sound rises to a thunderous level, each participant emerges from the mist one by one into an ancient world of ice and snow.

To quote the band’s own bio “Fields of Glass is a unique amalgam of musical elements.  The band brings together dual vocals (male and female), keyboards and cello, along with 2 guitars, bass and drums to create dark, heavy, epic metal”.   Even in this intimate setting that could barely contain them, the stage presentation and music were amazing.   This group of masters delivered with enormous force; including Rose’s personal favorite “Morbid Embrace” and closing with a new song “Fate”.

If you have never seen Fields of Glass, you MUST!  In fact, they are scheduled to return to The Haven with a brutal line-up on April 28, 2012.
